Founder

Hi! My name is Saanvi Gupta, and I'm a freshman in Los Angeles, California. I created this website to raise awareness for psoriasis, which is something I live with. I developed psoriasis as a young child, and to help other kids understand more about their condition, I created "Skin Science for Kids: Understanding Psoriasis."

Living with psoriasis myself, I know what it can feel like when people don't understand your skin or make assumptions. That's one of the reasons I'm passionate about helping others learn more about it, especially younger kids, so they understand themselves and others more.

I've always been interested in biology and how bodies work, and I wanted to combine that with something meaningful to me. In my free time, I enjoy playing volleyball, golf, volunteering, and tutoring younger students, which also inspired me to make this website creative and easy to understand.

The goal of this website is to help elementary school students learn what psoriasis is in a simple way and, most importantly, to understand that it is not contagious. I also hope it encourages kindness, empathy, and inclusion toward people who may look different.

Everyone deserves to feel confident and accepted, and through this project, I hope to make even a small difference.
